Meeting You Where You Are, Helping You Move Forward

As a military veteran, I know firsthand the power of connection and community in overcoming life's challenges. At Where We Meet, we’re dedicated to creating spaces where healing happens through creativity, support, and shared experiences. Our mission is simple: to meet people where they are and help them take the next step toward healing and growth.

Events
Mental health is at the heart of our mission, and we are committed to breaking stigmas and providing accessible resources. Our Veterans Coffee Chat (Southside Strong Coalition) offers a space for veterans to connect, share, and receive support in a relaxed, informal setting. We also provide mental health and wellness education through workshops and presentations focused on trauma recovery, PTSD, and practical strategies for emotional well-being.

Community Outreach
At Where We Meet, Inc., we use theatre and the arts as powerful tools for healing and self-expression. Through our DE-CRUIT Program, veterans and trauma survivors engage with Shakespeare and theatre techniques to process their experiences in a transformative way. Our theatre-based workshops incorporate interactive storytelling, improvisation, and performance to encourage emotional release and resilience. Additionally, we collaborate with local theatres and community spaces to host community performances, creating safe spaces for self-expression and collective healing.
Programs
We believe in the power of community and connection to drive healing. Our workshops and classes include art sessions, writing prompts, wellness exercises, and customized healing programs tailored to the needs of our participants. Through our community service initiatives, such as "Pamper with a Purpose" for women’s shelters and "Something for the Men" to promote men's health and self-care, we extend our support to underserved communities. By partnering with organizations like Piven Theatre, Steppenwolf Theatre, and Blue Door Neighborhood Center, we continue to expand our outreach and impact.
